Glory Be To The Father, And To The Son, And To The Holy Ghost!

The Holy BIBLE

The Bible Is Our Standard

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." 2 Timothy 3:16,17

"Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost" (2 Peter 1:20,21).

New Member's Ministry

Director: Deaconess Helen Evans

Vice-Chairpersons: Deaconess Georgia Thrower

                            Sister Sylvia Etheridge

Meeting: Last Saturday of Each Month.

Time: 2:00 p.m.

This ministry serves as the initial orientation of the new members and informs them of the various ministries and organizations of the church. Our wish is that each member will become an active member.

New Members Ministry provides an overview of the various ministries of the church for new members, giving them an overview of the purpose and function of the various ministries at Piney Grove Baptist Church.

The New Member's Ministry meets on the last Saturday of each month at 2:00 p.m.

The objective of the New Members Ministry is to let the new member know that their gifts and talents are needed in support of the Kingdom building we are doing here at Piney Grove Baptist Church in Jesus' name.

God's greatest gift to us was the sacrifice of his soon, and as the resurrected Savior, Jesus is the gift that keeps on giving. In gratitude for this greatest of all blessings, we should present our service as a living sacrifice.

The goal of this ministry is to provide the new member with enough information to help them to consider where they may be most useful. Additionally, the New Members Ministry wants to encourage and remind the new member that they have gifts and talents that are unique to them alone and that God placed them here with a plan in mind. They can learn God's purpose for them by listening for his input as they prayerfully consider their service options.

The New Member's Ministry would like to let each new member know that we believe that we can All be a part of the EXTRAORDINARY ACHIEVEMENTS GOD has in store for this body of Faith IF we put him first, get together, and use the natural abilities and talents he has blessed us with in a selfless way.

The New Member's Ministry will approach each new member with expectation that they are seeking something from God; and, while it is not our place to try to steer them in any direction, we do want to create a nurturing environment that facilitates the achievement of that expectation.

Keeping these ideas in mind, the New Member's Ministry will strive to find new ways to get the new member involved with the church family and get them out of that "new member" posture as quickly as they will assimilate. Recognizing that the pace will vary by individual.
