Missionary Ministry

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to empower humankind as we join together through love, compassion, and the shared vision of spreading the soul-saving message of Jesus the Christ.  We seek also to magnify the blessings of God through encouragement and service to everyone regardless of race, creed, or background.  Our sincere focus is on "life changing discipleship," which fulfills God's great commission.

Matthew 28:18-20 "Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age".

GO...TEACH...BAPTIZING.  These words are Christ's Great Commission to all His followers of every generation.  They state the goal, responsibility, and commissioning of the church's missionary task.

  • The church is to go into all the world and preach the gospel to all people according to the New Testament. revelation of Christ and the apostles.  This task includes the primary responsibility of sending forth missionaries into every nation (Acts 13:1-4).
  • The preaching of the gospel is centered on "repentance and remission (forgiveness) of sins" (Luke 24:47), the promise of receiving "the gift of the Holy Ghost" (Acts 2:38), and exhortation to separate from this wicked generation (Acts 2:40) while waiting for the return of Jesus from heaven (Acts 3:19-20; 1 Thes. 1:10).
  • Those who believe in Christ and the gospel are to be "baptized" in water.  This represents their covenant pledge to renounce immorality, the world, and their own sinful nature, and to unreservedly commit themselves to Christ and His kingdom purposes. (Acts 22:16)
  • Christ promises to be with those who are involved in winning the lost and teaching them to observe His righteous standards.  Christ will be with His obedient followers in the presence and power of the Holy Spirit
