Piney Grove Baptist Church

The history of any church congregation should reflect the Glorification of God, through Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son, by the Presence and Power of the Actions of the Holy Spirit.  As our Heavenly Father is Honored in Devoted Love, and Salvation from sin is a reality through the Saving Grace of Jesus Christ and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit rests upon and within the church, we are kept from falling from Grace and can be presented by Jesus Christ, faultless before the Presence of God's Glory.

Piney Grove Baptist Church has been a pillar in the community for over One Hundred and Thirty-Three years.   From the log cabin church to the edifice of today, Piney Grove Baptist Church has stood the test of time and is the second oldest black church in Virginia Beach, VA.  The Piney Grove Baptist Church Family has reached another milestone. God has blessed us with our new Pastor, Reverend Todd C. Davidson.  Pastor is married to the beautiful Laia Davidson and they are the proud parents of little Cana.

Our Pastor's Installation Banquet was held on June 12, 2004, at 6:00 pm., at the Ramada Plaza Oceanfront (57th Street & Atlantic Avenue, Virginia Beach).  Pastor's Installation Service was held on June 13, 2004 at 3:00 pm.

The lifework of the Church is to work the works of Christ while it is day, because the night comes when no man can work.  The responsibility is to spread the Good News to the poor, show healing to the sick, brokenhearted and addicted, to recover sight to the blind and set at liberty those broken by calamity and affliction.

We must maintain a Winning Spirit.  The Winning Spirit comes with the Holy Spirit. While there may be delays, some defects and dismal days along the way, we must remember "greater is He who is in us." Victory is ours.  God has not brought us this far to be losers.  The Winning Spirit is fortified by a Positive Spiritual Attitude; High, Hopeful Spiritual Aspirations; and Virtuously Spiritual Activity.
